2023 Baking Schedule
We're back this year at Bronx Community Centre for our pavilion celebrating Folklorama. Helen Fewster and Veronica Thiffeault are heading pastry this year. Join us with baking pastries! Any day you will be able to help is greatly appreciated.
Baking dates are as follows:
April 10 - starting at 5 pm - Cookies
April 15 - starting at 9 am - Torte
April 17 - starting at 5 pm - Cookies
April 22 - starting at 9 am - Peaches
April 29 - starting at 9 am - Torte
Please contact Helen or Veronica as soon as possible if you can lend a hand.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner Oct 22 2022
Join us at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall (95 Macdonald Avenue) to celebrate ALL the 2022 Folklorama (Slovenija Pavilion) volunteers, CSCS members or not! The board is so appreciative of everyone that gave their time to help put on a fantastic festival. We will be holding a brief vote for Folklorama 2023 with current CSCS members, and will then put on a brief presentation and serve dinner. Dancing and drinks to follow!

AGM on November 28 via Zoom
Hello Members,
We will be hosting our Annual General Meeting on Sunday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions and our desire to keep all of our members safe, we will be doing the AGM via Zoom.
Members who are on our email list will receive the meeting link and access information, and we ask that our younger, more tech-savvy members do their best to help parents, grandparents or other family members access the meeting if they need help to do so.
If you are a CSCS member in good standing and have not received an email with the Zoom link by Nov. 14, please send an email to can_slo@hotmail.com and we will make sure to get that information to you.

Event Updates for 2021
We have a few events in the works for 2021, dependent, of course, on COVID-19 restrictions and protocols.
Drive-thru BBQs at Our Lady of Lourdes church:
We’d like to host a BBQ at the end of March or early in April, weather dependent, as we did last summer. More info coming soon.
We will host a BBQ for Mother’s Day (Sunday May 9) with free meals for moms.
Will we also host a BBQ for Father’s Day (Sunday June 20) with free meals for dads. If public health orders allow, we will also have a short program celebrating our Slovenian heritage on this day, as Slovenia Day is also around this time, on June 25.
CSCS 70th Anniversary:
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the CSCS, and while it is very unlikely we will be able to gather in any large way, we will be planning something as a way of celebrating this milestone. We will keep you all updated as plans progress.
